"I just finished my first rotation in Kazakhstan, it was a period full of experience
. Every day, i was learning a lot of new stuff, more and more i felt involved and
i had the chance in this small period to work in construction and commissioning
(preparation and isolation of systems for leak tests in oil plant and gas plant)
from a piping related side . Surprisingly i was able to match and work with people
who got many many years of experience in this field and even correct them respectfully
which gave me a great self satisfaction. Also i was happy by the speed of development
and that i was able to quickly learn.
I can only conclude that i was already prepared to be there and what i was able
to achieve in this period - as small as it is - is due in the first place for that
great training i had with my colleagues given to us by the suvidya institute of
technology. Thus i cannot express by words my appreciation to what was given to
us by SIT represented by you, and to the opportunity given to us by the OD department
represented in our case by Mrs Sandra Kharrat.
Saying that, i feel that i have a moral duty towards SIT to give a Live Support
about what i think can improve this training in the future. It is only from my point
of view what i felt i needed more at some stage while working on site: - More information
about equipment : Mechanical drawings and documentation related to equipment since
i felt that a piping engineer is the one more involved when it comes to the interface
piping-mechanical ; thus he should be the one knowing more about the other side.
( Maybe a second week should be added in the future related to Mechanical training
which will go deeper in the mechanical drawings and provide to the piping engineer
a better idea of his surroundings when it comes to equipment) -Providing if possible
a Photo from a real plant for each and every kind of special part/valve/instrument
which can be attached to the material distributed to the graduates, because a photo
in a projection can be forgotten and a drawing is not always enough for the imagination
of our brain to be able to provide the exact picture of the reality. This way it
will be even easier for the grads once on site to analyse and it can stay in their
references which they can rely on when required.
Mr Vasant, i wish you the best as always!
